How we work with you
Shattock Communications & Research Ltd believes
it will be more successful if it concentrates on maximising value
to clients, rather than maximising the value of clients.
We believe the key factors in achieving this are understanding
what clients want, working smarter, and giving clients choices.
We know what clients want because weve done our
research. We know clients place a high value on a public relations
and marketing communications provider who is available when needed,
takes personal responsibility for client work, and understands their
business issues.
We work smarter by investing in efficient systems,
ungoing professional education, and using external specialists when
needed.
We give clients a choice on how they wish us to work
with them. There are several options:
Fixed retainer
A long-time industry standard, fixed retainers have
advantages and disadvantages. For clients, the advantages include
putting a ceiling on costs and enjoying a certain amount of account
over-servicing when activity levels are high.
While this option suits many clients, one potential
downside is that is represents an on-going commitment at times when
there is less activity. For that reason, we also provide other choices.
Capped retainer
A cap point is agreed as a percentage of the retainer
figure. We monitor fees and other costs, and as they approach the
cap we seek approval to continue with planned activities. The client
decides whether work should continue or be postponed.
This option gives budget control back to the client
so cost savings can be offset against other spending peaks.
Hourly charges
Clients often prefer this option initially, or where
their requirements are likely to be intermittent. The probably extent
of work is discussed, an estimate provided, and client approval
given to proceed within certain limits.
If requirements expand, we suggest other options which
may suit clients better.
Project fee
A project fee can be determined where the detail and
extent of the work to be done is already pre-defined. This is not
usually the case, because issue often have to be identified or researched
and strategies developed.
Whatever basis of working arrange you choose, we will
seek to make it an on-going relationship. We believe public relations
is most effective when there is a long-term commitment.
